Karim Hisham became Bayer’s Digital Champion in Egypt as a result of his great passion for social media alongside his role as a medical sales representative. As part of Bayer encouraging employees to continue their education, he is currently pursuing an MBA in Marketing at ESLSCA business school.
My association with Bayer started in early 2014 and when I look back over the past four years, I can say with some assurance that I have come far as an individual. And this change is not just in terms of career progress, but also in permanently shaping my personality.
Proud to have achieved a certain level of success
Being always ambitious, I have maintained a personal focus on self-improvement, striving to go beyond and farther than the requirements of the job. Starting off as a medical sales representative, I have maintained a passion for marketing and using social media platforms to reach diverse audiences. I am proud to say that I have achieved a certain level of success in taking our products even further by developing content and sharing meaningful stories that have reached and resonated with people even beyond Egypt.

Feedback-based personal development is a welcome result of such close collaboration. Bayer also supports employees with aspirations in continuing education. After achieving the target for three years in row at Bayer, I got promoted to a senior medical representative. I wasn’t about to forget improving myself in the marketing. I started my MBA and a digital marketing diploma in parallel to my ongoing work at the company. I experienced such an amazing understanding and appreciation from the company and my Manager.
Invent solutions that will create a sustainable future
In mid-2018, and as part of my development at Bayer, I was awarded the title Bayer Digital Champion in Egypt. In this new role, I have become responsible to drive the social media program of a dedicated Consumer Health brand across the country. My mandate involves liaising with different internal cross functional teams including regional marketing, medical and pharmacovigilance as well as external stakeholders and digital Consultants.
